Sing With Me” is the song that serves as the anthem for the ministry we want to establish. For several years, we have been praying about the purpose for the gift of this music. It seemed that there could be more done with it beyond sharing it with our immediate circle of family and friends.
So much of the saving grace lavished upon us in Christ Jesus is a mystery beyond our comprehension. It is real, it is revealed to us in Holy scripture, it is our experience. Yet the fullness of it is beyond our ability to contain, and only for us to receive, believe, and trust in for eternity.
The Truth says God is the creator of all, knows all, and is all powerful. God is near, is Love, and Loves you. God has revealed Himself to us, in and through all creation and ultimately in His Son. God has reconciled you to Himself in, and through His Son. Seek Him and you will find Him. In Him alone is true being.
This song celebrates The Creator as understood in, and through, His Creation. The peace of a quiet morning before sunrise, the wind in the trees of some place of rest and solitude, the dwarfing of my soul as I gaze into a star filled sky, and somehow feel akin to it.
This song celebrates Jesus with a thankful heart and a joyful spirit. He who was, and is, and is to come.
He who told us that in this world we will have tribulation, but to be of good cheer, for He has overcome the world.
As Christ walked in obedience to the love of the Father, so in Him are we called to do the same. God’s kingdom come in me, Christ the servant of God formed in me, asking, seeking and entering into the opportunity of this day’s providence.
I believe as Christians we should give most careful thought as to the belief system in which the information/entertainment we consume is crafted and filtered through. Is it one that regards God’s word as true and tenable?
My son was a kindergartner at the time. One day, as I was driving him home from school, he fell asleep curled up in the front seat of our car. It was a wet grey winter day and the sun had just broken the late morning clouds as we drove down the freeway.
The purpose of this music has always been ministry, that it would offer and communicate to others the Grace of God in the gift of His only begotten Son, the first born of our salvation and re-creation, our redeeming Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
I decided to prayerfully enter into a 40- day fast. I told no one, not even my wife. At the end of those 40 days, on that very day, three very specific and particular confirmations of purpose and direction were revealed.
With the advance of on-demand technology and accessibility to personal devices, the moral and spiritual pollution that pour into the souls of modern man is a terrible source of hopelessness, playing havoc with our world.
James 1:2 NIV
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when ever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
When faced with our complete inability to change a situation or circumstance, we have come to a place where a truth, most certainly “The Truth” (for all truth is His Truth), has lovingly watched over and gently led us.
He Came to meet us at the end of our road after all of our efforts are spent, and still we are in our failure. At the end of our goodness that can’t be enough. At the end of our weakness and blindness and selfishness.
We are not the first, nor will we be the last to strive to keep our eyes on the finished work of the Cross of Christ, the author and finisher of our Faith. This song is meant to be an encouragement to all who walk that path and strive for that end.
This song was written in the months following my conversion. It is a testimony to the restoration of peace and innocence that is Gods gift to us through the sacraficial life and atoning death of our Lord Jesus.
Trying to navigate our lives in and of ourselves is what we are inclined by nature to do. In the storms of our lives we are reminded of our inability to understand and respond to the unknown circumstances that surround us.
